Coming March 2022!
Instead of coming together in a big group setting, you will run or walk at home, in your neighborhood, a park, etc. during a two week time period and still compete for an award! Everyone participating in the Virtual 5K will receive a “Liberty County 4-H 5K” race medal.
We hope you join us in the Virtual 4-H 5K race!
Due to the continuing health situation, the 2021 Liberty County 4-H 5K will be held as a VIRTUAL event. This means you get to choose your own place to walk or run from March 1 to March 15th! So sign up with your friends and family, grab a timing device and have a fun time running/walking for a purpose by supporting the Liberty County 4-H programs! Hopefully in the future we can host an in-person 5K and celebrate. The distance of a 5K is 3.1 miles. On a standard outdoor track, a 5K (5,000 meters) is 12.5 laps.
One of the pillars of 4-H is, “Health, to better living,”. The 4-H 5K is a run/walk with a purpose. All participants will have the opportunity to focus on health and increase their physical activity! All funds help to support the community service projects that benefit Liberty County 4-H, a local non-profit organization, and the youth and adult leaders involved.
Entry Fee is $15 for Non-4-H Members and $10 for 4-H Members (Membership must be active on date of registration.)
Your 2021 entry fee includes:
- A goody bag (to the first 100 participants) mailed
- A “Liberty County 4-H 5K” wooden race medal
- Recognition by sharing action photos (sent in) to the media and on Liberty County 4-H Facebook Page
Liberty County 4-H Members will receive 1 point toward Awards Point log upon completion.
Online registration to receive your goody bag by mail will close at 11:59pm on February 25, 2021. FINAL online registration closes at 11:59pm on Friday, March 12, 2021.
